Menu
A popover list of actions or a small panel anchored to the control that opened it: an item's ⋮, the pen-presets button, the journal date pill.
Consumer provides: the trigger, an optional header naming the subject, the items.
Rules
- 2 dp
inkframe,radius-md, 48 dp items (56 on the tablet) with a leading icon. - Anchored: opens directly below (or above, near the bottom) its trigger, edge-aligned to it. The trigger shows its selected state while the menu is open; an item row turns active.
- Optional muted header naming the subject ("kubernetes") when the menu could be read as global.
- Destructive items in
urgent, last, after a divider, ending in "…" when a confirmation follows. - Not for tools. Editing tools never live in labelled menus — they go in the » ToolTray.
Compose
DropdownMenu with shape = RoundedCornerShape(8.dp), border = BorderStroke(2.dp, ink), shadowElevation = 0.dp, tonalElevation = 0.dp.
In the app
InkDropdownMenu: static, bounded options with selected and checked semantics, on both devices.
- Opens 4 dp below its trigger, or above it near the bottom of the window.
- Aligns to the trigger's nearer edge, so a trailing ⋮ gets an end-aligned menu.
- Stays 8 dp from the window edges.
- 4 dp vertical padding; items have a 24 dp leading icon.
- The selected row has the sage fill, Bold text and a trailing check.
- Only the pen-preset picker becomes a titled bottom sheet on the phone.
- Labels are descriptive, never technical IDs.
